Future for New Orleans economy, real estate focus of UNO conference

The future of the New Orleans economy and real estate market will be the focus of a conference at University of New Orleans on Friday (May 6).

The annual Dr. Ivan Miestchovich Economic Outlook & Real Estate Forecast Seminar will include experts talking about overall economic growth, hotel developments and trends in commercial and residential real estate.

The conference will be held at UNO's University Center in the Sen. Ted Hickey Ballroom from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

New Orleans regional economy panel: Quentin Messer Jr. of the New Orleans Business Alliance will talk about prospects in New Orleans. Linda Prudhomme of Port of South Louisiana will examine the River Region. John Williams, dean of the UNO College of Business Administration, will make a presentation on tourism and hotel developments.

Commercial real estate panel: Kirsten Early and Sandra Corrigan of SRSA Commercial Real Estate and Henry "Hank" Tatje of the appraisal firm ARgote, Derbes, Graham Shuffield and Tatje will discuss trends.

Residential real estate panel: Larry Schedler, whose firm Larry G. Schedler & Associates specializes in multifamily developments, and Richard Haase of Latter & Blum will look at housing trends.

Attendance costs $40 if registered by May 6 or $45 at the door.
